RELAX! You can grow your network AND always have something to post…

Here’s a tip so you can grow your network + always have something to post.

(PS: Shout-out to Dallas Travers, an awesome business coach! She uses a version of this strategy to help her clients grow their email list, and I adapted it for social media.)

Here it is:

  1. Make a list of 5 – 10 online brands with a similar target audience, but a totally different product.

For example: If you’re an acting coach, you should target headshot photographers, acting schools, marketing experts for actors, etc.

  2. If you’re a fitness coach for mothers, you should target daycares, schools, etc.

  3. Make sure these brands have a similar voice / message to yours. That way, you know your following will really dig their stuff.

  4. Start interacting with them (in a cool, non-stalker way!) on a weekly basis. The goal here is that they become familiar with your handle / brand.

Like and comment on their images, ask them questions, maybe even re-share their stuff.

  5. Once you think they’re familiar with who you are, reach out to them with the email they provide online and ask if they would be interested in forming a social-partnership.

Let me give you an example.

I’m a social media strategist for coaches, so I often get in touch with business coaches because they work with a lot of coaches who are actively trying to develop their brand and therefore could use some social media support.

So, let’s say I’m reaching out to Beth the Business Coach.

Beth and I have a lot of the same interests. We’re super into meditating, and she’s all about making the process of growing your business simple and fun. (Like me!)

    Here’s what I’d say…

“Hi Beth,

You know me from Instagram. I’m the girl that just can’t get enough of your stuff and have been liking and commenting a bunch!

I’m a social media strategist for coaches and really think my audience of coaches could benefit from what you share online. I wanted to see if you’d be interested in forming a strategic social-relationship.

There’s a ton of your content I think my audience would devour, so I’d love to actively share your content to help you get it in front of more people.

In return, I thought maybe your audience could benefit from my content, too.

Here are a few things I shared last month, for instance. These strategies help coaches with their social media in a fun and non-overwhelming way. So I really think your audience would dig ‘em.

Let me know what you think! No pressure whatsoever. I just wanted you to know that I love what you’re doing, and if you think my content might resonate with your audience, maybe we can help one another serve more people.

Let me know 🙂

The idea here is that you’re doing this pretty regularly. So, if you’ve got a list of 5 – 10 target business owners at any given time, you can SERIOUSLY grow your reach by the end of the year (hell… by the end of just a few months!)

Plus, once you’ve built your network, you will ALWAYS have something to re-post. And you will ALWAYS be getting in front of more and more people because your network will be actively sharing your stuff, too.

Woo hoo!

I’d love to hear from you. How do YOU grow your network? Let me know below.

PS: Want more content ideas? GOOD! Cuz I’ve got a ton.
