Use Insta-Polls! Here’s Why and How…

Here’s what you need to know about using polls for your business…

First, how they work:

  • You can only have one poll per photo or video within your story.
  • You can customize the poll options as long as you don’t go over 27 characters.
  • Voting isn’t anonymous. You can see who responded to the poll by clicking the analytics button in the lower right corner of your poll story.
  • If you’re doing the voting, you can’t change your vote after responding.
  • Like usual, your story disappears after 24 hours and so does your poll!

Now here’s why and how to use it for your biz…

Firstly, why they are amazing.

Now here’s why and how to use it for your biz…

Firstly, why they are amazing.

Polls are awesome for engagement which is exactly what the algorithm needs! The more engagement you have, the further the algorithm lets your content travel because the more relevant your page appears.

That’s why — to begin — you need to make engagement super, super easy. So, start with “yes or no” questions. It makes responding a no brainer.

Here are a few examples.

  1. “Did you find this training helpful?”
  2. “Should I start a podcast?”
  3. “Have you followed me on Twitter yet?”
  4. “Should I have a beer with lunch??”

(hehe. Did you catch that last one? Don’t forget to have FUN on social media and let people get to know you as a PERSON and not just a business)

You can also ask for feedback by customizing your polls.

For example…

  1. “I’m writing an e-book! Which cover do you like better?” Then you can include two e-book images and have your poll options be: The Purple Cover or The Green Cover
  2. Or, if you’re a business coach, maybe you want to ask about what kind of content to share. For example, “What topic do you want me to cover on the blog this week?” Then your poll options can be: Facebook Ads or When to raise rates?
  3. Or… something that I saw earlier today that I LOVED was a coach asking which gift her following wanted for a giveaway challenge. Cool, right? It got people excited to take part in the challenge because they were invested.

Last but not least, a tip: LISTEN to the results.

If your following requests something, give it to them. The key here is engagement. If you don’t listen to your following, there’s really no reason to engage with you.

Plus, your following will give you VALUABLE information on what your dream client wants. It would be foolish not to listen to it. #RealTalk
