Week of February 6

Prompt 1:

Objective:
Belief content / value content.

Time to budget:
Budget 30 minutes.

Prompt:
Something I’ve noticed in my years of working with coaches is that the resistance people feel when it comes to taking action is linked back to their fear of what people will think of them.

For instance, in my industry:

People don’t want to pitch to a podcast because they don’t have any followers or engagement so they assume the podcast has no reason to have them on…

(uhhhh how about the TREMENDOUS value? They don’t care about your followers if you’re going to deliver results for their people!)

So today, what’s something people need to stop obsessing over?

For example…

For social media coaches:
No one cares how many likes that post got.

(Hint: My highest performing content has the lowest engagement.)

For content coaches:
No one cares if you’re wearing makeup in your IG story.

(Big pet peeve: People apologizing for their appearance on social!)

For course creators:
No one cares how many modules you have.

(That’s not what sells your course, the transformation sells your course.)

In other words, address the thing that people do / think that holds them back.

Okay, now for HOW to do that.

We’ve created a reel template with lots of different designs. This will feel kinda like a quote card, but on a reel.

Why?

1️⃣ Because video travels more

2️⃣ Because now you can add a trending song to it for a little extra travel!

You can use this template with many different designs.

(Don’t forget, the below example doesn’t have a song on it. That will be added when you load it to IG reels.)

WTHTP Right Now (2023)
WTHTP Right Now (2023)
WTHTP Right Now (2023)

The below caption is with the middle example in mind:

Your 💩 engagement is NOT why someone is not hiring you.

It’s also NOT why someone is not following you.

And it’s NOT why podcast hosts (or other collaborative opportunities) are saying “no” to you.

When you put all your focus on “likes” and comments – you’re distracting from things you actually DO need to work on.

Like…

✅ …why is my messaging not landing with people?

✅ …how can I get better at selling in the DM?

✅ …how can I address the “money objections” that keep coming up in my sales calls / DMs / emails?

✅ …is my lead magnet not what people want?

✅ …am I believing in my value enough? Also, am I COMMUNICATING my value enough?

✅ …am I putting myself out there enough?

So the next time you pitch yourself or have a sales call or feel down about your engagement and think it’s what is holding your business back, take a moment and consider the deeper issues that might be holding you back.

You’ll move forward much faster when your energy is more specifically and strategically placed.

Is this helpful? Comment YES or NO ⬇️

Prompt 2:

Objective:
Shout out biz owners you love (optional) or just remind people to prioritize yourself in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.

Time to budget:
It depends on the route you go. I took unpolished pictures for 15 minutes and then wrote a caption for 15 minutes. It also took  me 10 minutes to think of the people I wanted to shout-out. I would budget 45 minutes to be safe.

Prompt:
It is so important to be social on social.

But as a reminder, that’s not just about being social with the people who might buy from you, that’s about being social with the people who you can collaborate with.

So – in the spirit of Valentine’s Day – here’s your prompt:

1️⃣ Think of something more emotional that your ideal audience struggles with.

People pleasing?
Putting themselves last?
Thinking everyone else knows more than they do?
Over apologizing?

2️⃣ Then write a few reminders giving people permission to STOP doing that thing.

For me, for example, I am a recovering people pleaser and most of my audience is, too. So I put together a series of things I no longer apologize for.

Let’s say your audience never puts themselves first, share a few instances they SHOULD be putting themselves first.

Let’s say your audience overthinks, share a few things you will STOP overthinking in order to give permission to your people to stop overthinking.

3️⃣ Since this is such a personal message, I’d share your face if you can.

I put my messages on post-it notes so you could take an imperfect series of pics with them… like how I’ve done it below.

Keep it raw + reel.

Otherwise everything feels too polished.

To keep it branded, we added very simple “swipe” elements to a template you can add your pictures to.

Get the template here, it will look something like the below.

OPTIONAL #4️⃣: Use the caption to shout out people who have helped you on your journey.

See an example caption below the example graphics…

Here’s the caption I wrote when I shared this:

PEOPLE PLEASING BIZ OWNERS…⬇️⬇️

As someone who is always working on her people pleasing and work/life balance, I’ve got a few people you absolutely must follow so you have more examples of work/life balance + what it looks like to not survive in hustle mode.

Their work has inspired me IMMENSELY + it will help you, too ♥️

@katenorthrup — the “do less” OG! You’ll love her relationship with money + work and how she encourages you to pay attention to yours 🔥

In fact, listen to her on episode 49 of Marketing Unfiltered!

@mtoni — my girl! She navigated a scary health journey last year and has made changes that she continues to honor. I so admire how she’s scaled her business to work for her and how PRESENT she is for her community.

@christinecorcoran_coach — I will never not shout this woman out! Her mindset work is like none other — and she’s got a Masterclass running right now. Go check her out!

@corene.phelps — another goddess! She is a hypnobreathwork expert and has inspired me to lean more into my intuition rather than just hustle my way through everything.

@haleyburkhead — her approach to motherhood is so refreshing, she’s made it work for her and continues to grow her wealth while only spending time on what fuels her 🔥 Go Haley!

@theracheljoy1 — I worked with Rachel a little while back and I am obsessed with how gracefully she keeps her boundaries. Again, another example of a woman who is making motherhood work while she massively grows her biz! ✨

Who do YOU get inspired by as it pertains to work/life balance and not letting people pleasing tendencies run your life? I’d love if you shared them in the comments ♥️

Prompt 3:

Objective:
Build collaborative relationships.

Time to budget:
30 – 45 minutes.

Prompt:
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, share people you recommend your audience follows.

Hint: Be strategic about this.

Choose people who align with what you talk and speak to your target audience (this one is a must). It would also be great if they aligned with one thing or more on this list:

  • They have been a guest expert in your program
  • They WILL be a guest expert in your program this year
  • They would be ideal promo partners for your next launch
  • They have a podcast you plan on pitching to in the next 30 days
  • They would be great cross-over partners in general

Here’s a template you can use.

You’re gonna wanna SWIPE ➡️

If you’re an online coach looking to build that go-to coach factor, these are 3 women I HIGHLY recommend.

Who’s someone you love learning from? I’d love to know about them in the comments! ⬇️

Reminder to tag the people you’re shouting out in the graphics.

Prompt 4:

Objective:
Engagement.

Time to budget:
If you don’t over-think this, this will be done in 10 minutes or less.

Prompt:
Go on IG story + share about the worst date you’ve ever had.

Random, right?

Well…. not really. Hear me out.

The objective of social media is to be SOCIAL and so often that’s about relating to people on a human level.

Many of you are AWESOME at talking about your business, and teaching us — but not as great at relating to us because telling stories feels RANDOM and unrelated to your biz, so you don’t understand the point.

Here’s the point: Engagement

The objective of telling stories is to get people to talk back to you, and if they’re not trained to speak to you in social circumstances, it’s a lot less likely that they’ll speak to you when you share about your business.

So today, on the heels of LOVE day, tell a story about your worst date ever.

You don’t need to go into detail (in fact, keep this about a minute) but tell us a funny story about your worst date and ask people to share something about their worst date.

For example…

Did your blind date eat off of your plate? (#ew)

Did you walk in on your heterosexual date kissing someone of the same sex? (This happened to me. He ended up marrying that man! So I’m super happy for him, but it was a little surprising in the moment 🤣)

Did your date take you to a movie you REALLY didn’t want to watch AND make you pay for it because he “forgot his wallet” (This also happened to me LOL)

Did your date poop in her pants because — poor thing — ordered a dish that was clearly too much spicy for her bowels? (This happened to my husband lol)

Have some fun today and then finish it off with the QUESTION STICKER so people can share about their worst date.

I like doing stuff like this on IG Story but you can of course move this to the feed with a throwback picture and a fun caption.

Trending Reel Audios + Ideas:

Objective:
Funny, relatable IG reel. The content with the most reach.

Time to Budget for This Post:
Budget 30 minutes.

Prompt:
It’s a reel day!

I’m devoting one day a week to sharing 3 trending audios you can steal for your reels. Why? Because I am finding this type of content to be getting the most reach.

1. How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

This is currently not trending — but it’s a fun and easy one and I think could do well with the right message.

This is a great sound for RELATABILITY.

What’s the thing you currently tackle OR used to tackle on a daily basis, and that your audience can relate to?

It might more personal life related — like the schedule you have driving your kids all over town for school and after school activities. Or maybe it’s work-life related, like the anxiety you feel before every sales conversation even though you know your sh*t.

The idea is to highlight the feeling of mentally preparing for something that’s about to happen. Use it to showcase something you’re excited about, something you’re prepared to argue about, or to poke fun at something you’re low-key dreading!

IDEAS:

  • Me after signing another client that I can help [transformation you help with]

  • Gearing up for another day of telling people [helpful advice they may not want to hear]

  • POV: User39856392 hopping in the comments trying to argue with me about [topic you’re an expert on]

  • POV: Preparing myself for a long day of [insider run-on sentence about the things that plague on your brain all day every day, like the example]

2. How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

The whole idea behind this trend is to hook people with all the reasons they shouldn’t do something … and then showing that there are ZERO reasons.

Here are some ideas:

  • 3 negative effects of [doing thing people don’t do because of some silly reason]

  • Why I regret [thing people don’t want to do]

Or you can highlight something that did NOT happen that you feel should have happened.

For example, I know someone who is a coach for people with autoimmune disorders. She often talks about how doctors sometimes do not acknowledge symptoms of her clients.

So for this coach, she could have done something like…

Suggestions my doctor had after I had a migraine every day for 30 days but my tests came back clean.

And of course — per the trend — no writing appears, suggesting that they had no suggestions.

The idea here is to highlight the fact that maybe your doctor isn’t your only option when it comes to unexplained medical stuff, and direct people to the caption for where they can find more info about unexplained health issues.

3. How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Most people are using this trend sarcastically, to highlight things that are uncool: terrible advice, disrespectful comments, or facing a situation you’re kind of bummed out about.

But you can also use it to share something that’s actually cool: a hack, a great testimonial, or just something your audience didn’t know!

Here are some ideas:

  • When someone says they don’t need [service you offer] because they can just [something that doesn’t work]

  • POV: You spent an hour doing your hair and makeup and the reel gets 11 views

  • When you decide to just [something you enjoy] and then remember that you never finished [something you put off]

Help them with that.

What are the top 1-3 results people want? And what is one tip / mindset / metric / point of clarity / shift you can offer to help get them back on track OR keep seeing better results?

Prompt 2:

Objective:
Re-introduce yourself.

Time to budget:
Budget 20 minutes, don’t overthink this.

Prompt:
Share 5 – 10 things about you to relate to your audience.

Make sure you offer a call to action so you can start some conversation in the comments.

WhatsApp Image 2023-01-20 at 10.29.15 PM-2-2-2-2-2

10 things that make me, me:

*which one do you relate to? 👇🏻*

1️⃣ I’ve lived in 7 countries and moved houses something like 28 times… one day I’ll count that all up again, but it’s too much of a headache when you’ve moved almost every year of your whole life. 🤣

2️⃣ I used to be obsessed with live concerts… anything from Madonna to Backstreet Boys to Black Eyed Peas to American Rejects to Panic at the Disco! to freaking Ricky Martin haha… live concerts are the best, regardless of the genre. 😎

3️⃣ My first job (outside of babysitting) was as a dance assistant for middle schoolers at 16 years old and I haven’t stopped working since.

4️⃣ I love to debate Vampire Diaries and why Damon is no where near as 🔥 as Stefan. 😂

5️⃣ I was an “All Tournament” player for my high school soccer team.

6️⃣ My sister and I still speak a made up language in public. We are damn good at it. 😂

7️⃣ I got my drivers license at 21 because of the whole “grew up in Asia” thing… still can’t drive though. 😰

8️⃣ A psychic told me my “soul mate” was British and had a flower for a last name … my now British husband is named Bradley Rose. 🤯

9️⃣ If coffee is truly bad for me, I don’t want to know. It’s a highlight of my day. 😉

🔟 I become a different person when I’m on a sunny beach. I hope one day we can live on the water!

Anything resonate with you?! 👇🏻

Prompt 3:

Objective:
Post a collab carousel to get in front of a new audience.

Time to budget:
I’d budget 45 minutes because there’s some correspondence needed with a collaborator. But use one of the templates to cut the time.

Prompt:
As you know, I find collaboration to be INSANELY beneficial when it comes to getting in front of new audiences.

I’m always on a mission to help make collaborating easier.

So I’ve come up with a fun collab carousel!

1️⃣ Invite someone to collaborate with! I’d make sure this is someone you have spoken to before. (No cold invitations for this.)

2️⃣ You can use this template to create a collab carousel!

3️⃣ When you post your carousel, mark them as a collaborator so that your post appears on their feed AND your feed.

I show you how to mark them as a collaborator below.

4️⃣ Does your collaborator not want to post your carousel to their feed for whatever reason? You can invite them to share it to their story or email list instead. But ideally, this is a collab reel.

Here’s an example.

Again, if you opt to create a collab reel, this carousel will be posted both on their feed and your own and you will share engagement and insights on it.

So it’s a great option.

Here’s how that works…

Step 1. Open Instagram

Prompt 4:

Objective:
Make a connection.

Time to budget:
Less than 5 minutes to put up a post on your IG story. The time it takes to respond to people may take longer depending on the response you get.

Prompt:
Today, put up a post on Instagram asking whether or not people struggle with something.

The folks that get a yes, get a DM.

Let’s break it down.

1️⃣ Have you been on a podcast recently?
Do YOU record a podcast and have you created a great, juicy episode recently?
Do you have a lead magnet?
Do you have a post that did really well a few months ago?

2️⃣ Consider the “problem” this piece of content solves

3️⃣ Go on Instagram story and ask if people…

…feel pressure to do the thing that causes the problem.

…want to solve the problem.

…align in any way with the problem that is solved in the content.

Just make sure it is a YES or NO question.

4️⃣ Everyone who answers “YES” gets a DM.

See the full step by step below.

Step 1: Ask the question in your story.

Step 2: DM the people who vote “yes”!

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Tell an “on my way to” story.

Use it to gently poke fun at self-sabotaging actions (like… “on my way to spend 2 hours on an Instagram post I’ll change my mind about last minute and never post.”).

Or to show something you love doing.

Or maybe a necessary “evil” in your line of work. (Like “on my way to dance on Instagram because otherwise these useful tips won’t be seen by anyone 🙄”)

Or use it to highlight something your clients/customers should be doing right now, that you also commit to doing.

Here are some ideas:

  • On my way to tell [your ideal client] that [something they need to hear]

  • On my way to Instagram HQ to ask why my reel didn’t go viral even though I danced my @$$ off

  • Me on my way to remind everyone [something uplifting your clients would want to hear]

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

The whole idea behind this trend is highlighting something that is absolutely not surprising…….but is easy to ignore or forget.

It’s perfect for showing a sarcastic “surprise.” Like the example.

Consider: is there anything you feel like a broken record about? Something that your clients give a lot of resistance around but every time they fully commit to it they get results?

Here are some ideas:

  • When my client took my advice to [something you recommend] and started [getting results they want]

  • When you try to DIY [transformation you help with] and [something they could avoid by working with you]

  • When you start to feel confident and imposter syndrome [or other obstacles] shows up ——- (In this reel idea, you would play the part of imposter syndrome showing up in an inconvenient moment)

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

There’s a few ways to use this t

Focus on something that’s a hard NO.

It might be advice you disagree with…

FAQs about your services…

Practices you don’t follow…

or to clear up any myths about your industry.

Here are some ideas:

  • Onscreen text of advice you do not recommend

  • “Do I have to stop [action] to get [result they want]?”

  • 4 things I’m saying NO to in 2023

  • Frequently asked questions (that you’d answer a hard no to)

  • I also like the idea of taking people behind the scenes of your work. Like what assumptions would people make about you in your day? For example — if you’re a nutritionist, people may assume that you’re always healthy. So add that text on the screen while you’re eating your fave not-so-healthy item as the audio says “no m’am!”

Week of January 23

Prompt 1:

Objective:
Drive traffic back to your content.

Time to budget:
5 minutes.

Prompt:
Something simple for you today.

1️⃣ Pick an Instagram reel or past carousel that did well. Ideally something that provides guidance or education of some kind.

2️⃣ Identify the problem that the content solves.

3️⃣ Put up a poll on Instagram Story and ask your audience if they struggle with that pain point.

And then follow it up with the reel / carousel that speaks to that pain.

It might look like this…

WhatsApp Image 2023-01-11 at 10.49.54 AM
WhatsApp Image 2023-01-11 at 10.49.54 AM
WTHTP Right Now (2023)

What this does is…

  1. Create engagement
  2. Weed out people in your community who come up against the pain point you’re speaking to so you can add them to your launch spreadsheet (if you are keeping that.)
  3. Helps you offer a solution to your people
  4. Helps you start a DM conversation so you can build a relationship.
  5. Leverage the algorithm because it’s easiest to engage with a sticker.

In other words, this is a great piece of content to do regularly.

Prompt 2:

Objective:
Share authentic content. Relate to people.

Time to budget:
30 – 45 minutes depending on how open you want to be.

Prompt:
FYI: Today is #WorldCancerDay. If you have someone in your life who has passed because of this horrific disease, it might be a good day for you to remember them and speak toward a cause that matters to you.

For anyone else, I know many of you are trying to share more “behind the scenes” during our Consistency Challenge this month.

If that’s you, this prompt is for you!

Let’s share the highlight reel and the real reel… here’s what I mean:

Step 1:
What’s something in your world that you’re really stoked about?

Step 2:
What’s something that is frustrating you?

Use the caption to share that it’s not always roses and rainbows.

We do this to relate to our people human to human.

Read the wording on the images for more info.

I've decided to use a carousel for this post, so the algorithm will push this content to people more than once. (Yep, that's what happens when you post carousels....) The first pic being me "happy" or "celebrating" -- whatever that looks like for you.
I’ve decided to use a carousel for this post, so the algorithm will push this content to people more than once. (Yep, that’s what happens when you post carousels….) The first pic being me “happy” or “celebrating” — whatever that looks like for you.
...and the second pic being about the not-so-shiny part. If you need to, share a little more about the meaning behind the pics in the caption. You'll see I've done this with a simple sentence in the example caption.
…and the second pic being about the not-so-shiny part. If you need to, share a little more about the meaning behind the pics in the caption. You’ll see I’ve done this with a simple sentence in the example caption.

💛 THE REAL & THE HIGHLIGHT REEL … 💩

THE HIGHLIGHT REEL:

I’m in celebration mode today because of these two things: 👇🏼

  1. I am still on CLOUD 9 after starting a podcast at the end of September! 🍾 It’s helped me connect with coaches, like you, meet new experts and hear their story. I’ve learned a ton, met incredible people, and I just wish it hadn’t taken me so long to face my fears and get one out there after years of wanting to!
  2. I’ll be going back to Bangladesh next month! That’s where I went to middle school. One of my oldest friends is getting married and I haven’t been back to Dhaka in 20 years. (sh*t I feel old.) Sooo very excited to share this part of my life with Bradley. When you live in Southeast Asia for 18 years, it’s hard to take your spouse “home” because you don’t really have one. So this is gonna be fun!

💩 OKAY, NOW THE REAL REEL (swipe!): 💩

As amazing as it is to be planning a homecoming and loving something you need to do every week …

Do you KNOW how many tech problems I have every week???

It.
Is.
Insane.

And while everyone I speak to has tech frustrations, we need to rebuild our entire site to get rid of ours. And it’s taking for freaking ever 😅

It’s also a big reason I have to stay up so late at night because my time zone is not aligned with the folks helping me.

(swipe to see the pups at 3am with me … waiting for me to finish work 😅 )

So yeah.

Some days I’m over the moon, other days I’m so ready to throw the computer out the window.

All of that to say, it would be so easy to just share about the stuff I’m celebrating.

But know there’s always more to the story!

What’s something you’re celebrating and / or … really over? Celebrate or vent in the comments 👇🏻

Prompt 3:

Objective:
Start a conversation.

Time to budget:
15 minutes.

Prompt:
Share a fun fact that your audience doesn’t typically know in order to start a conversation with your audience.

Let’s see this in action and then I’ll explain some ways you can use this below the example.

WTHTP Template Did you know-3

Example captions:

Just out of curiosity: How does this make you feel?

A) Motivated! … I can see that my current content is not in the top 10% of content that I see, so this makes me see I can do better.

B) Frustrated … I think my content is in the 1op 10% that I see. What am I missing?

Drop a letter so I can help you or cheer you on! 👇🏻👇🏻

OR, keep it simple…

Drop a YES if this surprises you 👇🏻👇🏻

So what’s the thinking behind these caption ideas?

If you choose the first option to start a conversation, perhaps you want it to lead to one of your lead magnets.

For example, if someone chooses B — they could be a perfect fit for one of your freebies which means you can respond to them saying something like:

Hi NAME! I figured some might feel that way. That’s why I created a PDF to walk through some ways to help you get in front of new audiences on social this year. Because maybe this is actually about being in front of the wrong people, not your content. Want me to send you the link?

Or you can simply get a sense of the community and where they stand and opt for the second caption idea.

Here’s a template you can use for a feed post.

Psssst… this could also be great on IG story!

Prompt 4:

Objective:
Make your target audience clear.

Time to budget:
15 minutes.

Prompt:
Today’s post is about promoting your discovery call or — any other kind of 1-1 experience you offer in order to give people the experience of working with you.

Here’s how it works:

1️⃣ What’s something a free 1-1 experience that gives people an opportunity to experience you?

Discovery calls?
DM conversations?

2️⃣ How many people do you want to come through that funnel?

If there isn’t a specific number, you don’t need to specify.

But for me, I find that it can be hard to have unlimited space for these experiences (duh) AND it offers some healthy urgency for your audience when you have limited space.

3️⃣ What is the benefit of the free  resource / experience? What’s the thing they’re going to walk away with?

4️⃣ Post on Instagram story sharing exactly what you’re looking for. Once people comment “ME” you can DM them a couple of questions to nurture that new relationship and then make an invitation.

See this in action below…

(Plus, snag a template here.)

And REMINDER: The IG story stickers in CANVA are just placeholders. You have to add real stickers when you’re in IG story.

WTHTP Right Now (2023)

Example DMs when you get response:

If you’re using this for discovery calls, reply with something short and sweet, ask them a question that is easy to answer:

Hi NAME! I’m excited you’re interested in getting on more podcasts in 2023! What kind of coach are you and who do you help?

After they respond, if they are not a good fit — let them know. If they are a good fit you can ask them another question that speaks more to what they want. It might sound like… (reminder: don’t lie)

Awesome! I’ve helped many coaches in this industry so that’s great. Why do you want to be on more podcasts this year and what has been getting in your way so far?

After they respond, if you see that they are no longer a good fit, let them know. If they are still a good fit, it’s probably time to make an invitation.

Got it — and I absolutely agree with that. This [roadblock] is probably because [share something that shows what you know] and I can help you with that.

You sound like a great fit for this.

Here’s what’s going on.

I’m offering free strategy calls to help people take their next step on their pitching journey. On this call we’re focused on cleaning up some common mistakes I see and evaluating your messaging.

If you find the call helpful, I’ll share more information about a program I’m running in [MONTH] which you are under no obligation to sign up for, but you’ll have the info you need to make the best choice for you.

Again, this is totally free + without any pressure at all.

For me it gives an opportunity to help you and share about what I do, for you it gives you your next steps so you can get unstuck (even without hiring me.)

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Highlight something where the math isn’t math-ing.

It’s perfect for sharing genuine confusion, a funny observation, or educating your audience on something that confuses them.

Here are some ideas:

  • When people message me to say I should [method/advice/framework you don’t use]

  • When someone says they don’t need a [your title] but they’re still struggling with [problem you help solve]

  • POV: You don’t have a plan for how to [problem clients struggle with]

  • When you [do something everyone thinks works] but nothing happens (like the example)

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

The whole idea behind this trend is sharing an unpopular opinion, a hot take, a surprising confession, or something people wouldn’t think. Use onscreen text to share what would get “horrified looks from everyone in the room!”

Here are some ideas:

  • When my clients find out I don’t recommend [standard industry or niche advice]

  • When I tell people [my favorite pizza topping/Starbucks order/favorite band/ favorite book genre etc.]

  • When I tell my clients the only way to get [result they want] is to [advice they may not want to hear]

  • When I tell people [unpopular opinion]

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

This trend is really about highlighting something that’s hyped up – something that supposedly “everyone wants” – but you’re not interested in because it goes against one of your values / it’s not everything it’s cracked up to be.

Create a contrast between the way you do things and the more expected way of doing them.

Here are some ideas:

  • Not wanting to work 24/7 if that’s what it takes to be successful/ “Successful” and burnt out overachievers

  • Me suggesting my clients don’t need to [something they’ve tried that didn’t work] / My clients saying they don’t want to stop because [unreasonable / unreallistic reason]

  • Potential client: I don’t want to hire you to [thing you help people with] / Same potential client, 30 days later: feeling exhausted and without any results

Week of January 16

Prompt 1:

Objective:
Share vulnerable content.

Time to budget:
Use this template to get this done in 15 minutes.

Prompt:
Today is about setting the record straight.

As an “expert” in your field or industry, there are lots of things you don’t do perfectly.

And yet, so often, those very things are exactly what is holding your clients back.

Show them that you struggle just like them, but you show up anyway and still get the results your clients want — even without getting “it” perfect.

Why do we share content like this?

Because this type of content helps your audience relate to you which is a big part of developing trust.

Here’s a template you can use. And below are a few different designs that you can make your own.

Plus, scroll down a little further for an example caption.

HEALTH _ NUTRITION

Keep your captions simple and to the point. Make it about them.

For example…

Just a reminder: Even the experts aren’t doing it perfectly… don’t let that get in your way from showing up consistently and using your social media as a platform to build trust, credibility, and to demonstrate what the heck you know!

OR (another example, with weight loss coaches in mind). This is more engagement focused. Plus, it tells people you’ll drop a comment as well. That way, if people tap to read your comment — you’ll get a touch which is clocked by the algorithm.

REMINDER: You don’t have to be perfect to lose weight.

What’s something you will give yourself permission to not do perfectly in 2023? 👇🏻

I’ll drop mine in the comments, too!

Prompt 2:

Objective:
Increase engagement for the algorithm

Time to budget:
5 minutes.

Prompt:
Post a potent / fun / relatable graphic and playfully ask if your audience agrees.

The trick here is picking a message that really lands with your audience and gives them a reaction.

Don’t worry, I’ve tried to make this easy for you.

STEP ONE:
Use a clear-as-day, maybe even hard-to-hear TRUTH.

Not sure what that looks like?

We’ve created some template designs with examples in our template to help you get the juices flowing.

Click here to check out the template.

But what I find helps is to consider something that kind of frustrates me that my ideal clients do.

Like, what’s a mistake people always make that you just WISH you could shake some loving sense into them about?

Or a myth that they just keep buying into no matter how many times you tell them it’s not true?

After that, I consider how I’d tell them that truth in the most unfiltered way.

And somewhere around there, I land on a message for a quote card.

STEP TWO:
Use one of the statements below as your caption.

8
7
5

You do you, honey / dude / babe / rock-star / friend. Drop YES in the comments if you agree. ⚡️

OR

Drop your fave emoji below if you agree ⚡️

OR

Drop YES in the comments if you needed this reminder.

OR

YES!! This is so true. Do you agree?

OR

Drop a YES in the comments if you needed this reminder.

OR

Can I get an AMEN? 👇🏻

Prompt 3:

Objective:
Provide value.

Time to budget:
20 minutes, with the template.

Prompt:
What’s something your audience needs to STOP doing?

Today is about highlighting that, and sharing alternative actions.

You can use this template to…

  • Share alternative ways to get the same result
  • Walk them through a step by step process for taking a different action (like the example)
  • Or perhaps share 3 resources to help them achieve the thing they want to achieve but in an easier more sustainable way

Then for the caption:

  • Where can they get more information? Use the caption to drive traffic there.
  • Use this for engagement! Ask your people if they agree, which one they would try, or any other type of easy-to-answer-question in just one sentence.
  • Or, you can elaborate on the info you shared in the graphic.

Here’s a template you can use. And scroll a little further for some caption examples!

13

Example captions:

Drive to a free resource:

Want more info on this? DM me!

I’ll share an episode of a podcast I was on where I shared wayyy more detail around how to make this happen.

OR drive to a paid resource:

Want more info on this? DM me!

We’ve got a pitch database that you can add yourself to for free, AND a pitch class complete with a strategic template that has gotten awesome results for clients…all for just $99.

Or ask for engagement:

Which one on this list will you try?!? If you let me know in the comments, I can share more info on each tip with you in the DMs 👏🏻

Or elaborate:

Let’s break this down ⬇️

1️⃣ You will probably book 25% of the podcasts you pitch to. So do some math to figure out how many pitches to send.

That means, if you want to be on one podcast a month, pitch to 4.

I would also designate a pitch day in your calendar so that you have an appointment with yourself that you stick to!

2️⃣ Write a list of stories that demonstrate your experience!

A common concern is that you have to be an expert on ALL the things to get on a podcast. That’s not true.

Instead, you need to come up with a story that your target audience is very interested in. The entire conversation doesn’t have to be focused on this story *but* it gives the host a sense around what you can talk about.

Here are some examples that I’ve helped clients (or myself) come up with:

✨ I made a sale a day on IG for 30 days + can talk about the 3 step authority formula I developed to make that possible.

✨ I made $3,000 while nursing my baby thanks to email funnels. My secret? Strategically investing in ads + adding video to my emails.

✨ I am down 80 pounds in 1.5 years without dieting or exercising 3 hours a day.

✨ I booked a series regular role without a massive resume or a big-wig agent

✨ I helped my client get out of a $20,000 debt by setting up a passive income stream that required 5 hours a week from her.

The goal is specificity and to tell a story that your target audience WANTS to know.

3️⃣ Write a pitch that highlights those stories + pitch!

Not sure how to format a pitch? We have a class on this with a strategic template available inside of What The Heck To Post, a $99 a month membership that includes group coaching.

Head to the link in my bio to learn more!

Got questions! I’m all yours in the comments or DMs ⬇️

Prompt 4:

Objective:
Share your behind the curtain life.

Time to budget:
This one took me some time because I could barely remember my life 🤣… so maybe you have a better memory than I do, but I’d budget 45 minutes to be safe.

Prompt:
What’s your story?

This prompt is about outlining where you’ve come from so people see your wealth of experience and/or how life has contributed to where you are today.

If you can, I’d share a message.

For me — after looking at my biggest failures — I can now see that they are a huge part as to why the things that are working, are working.

It might look like this…

Trending Reel Audios + Ideas:

Objective:
Funny, relatable IG reel. The content with the most reach.

Time to Budget for This Post:
Budget 30 minutes.

Prompt:
It’s a reel day!

I’m devoting one day a week to sharing 3 trending audios you can steal for your reels. Why? Because I am finding this type of content to be getting the most reach.

So let’s dive in…

Need a reminder on how to use the trending audios, go here to watch this 2.5 minute video.

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Highlight something you don’t like or that you disagree with. Use it to gently push back on myths about your niche, common mistakes your clients make, or even to poke fun at yourself!

Here are some ideas:

  • Onscreen text list of approaches you don’t recommend

  • When my client says they [approach they tried to a problem you help solve]

  • When people ask if I [method you disagree with] to [achieve results for clients]

Each time the audio says “nope, don’t like that” you can have a new thing you don’t like appear on the screen (either as a new video clip OR in writing).

OR do something like the example where you have a clear point on the screen and direct people to the caption for more information.

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Showcase a strong opinion that you have … that many disagree with.

You can use this to educate your audience on why you no longer use outdated methods, or why you’ve built your business around one way of doing something vs. another way of doing it.

Here are some ideas:

  • Telling people to [outdated advice] to [achieve results]

  • When someone says “[myth about your niche or industry]”

  • My patience for people who still think [something you consider wrong or no longer useful]

Pair this with a clip of you doing the thing (and the words on top of the clip), like the example.

Or speak to the camera and have the words of the thing you’re speaking to under your face the whole time.

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Share why you’re the go-to person in your niche.

Here are some examples:

  • “Who’s going to teach me how to [problem you help solve]?”

  • When you need someone to help you [results your clients want to achieve]

  • Who’s going to get you [results they want] without [something they want to avoid]

  • Who quit ______ [thing you quit] to become a _____ coach because _______ [strong opinion].

  • Who has a ___ % success rate thanks to ______ [thing you use in your coaching]

  • Who launched an online course that will help you _____ [thing you coach] in ____ [days / months / time frame, if applicable].

Or, instead of talking about business, make this more relatable.

  • Like the example, share a goal you’re working on that you’re determined to achieve.

  • Is there something funny / embarrassing that happened that your ideal client could relate to? Use this audio to highlight the thing that happened and then tell your story in the caption. For example, if you’re a fitness coach and your ideal clients struggle going to the gym because they’re not sure how to use the equipment, share a funny story from the time that you experienced the same struggle.

Week of October 24

Prompt 1:

Objective:
Share value.

Time to budget:
20 minutes.

Prompt:
Clearly share what DOES get results, and what does NOT get results.

Hint: There are things people *think* get results.

This is about busting those beliefs.

Here’s a template you can use.

3
4

Prompt 2:

Objective:
Create a safe, relatable space.

Time to budget:
15 minutes. Truly do not overthink this one 🙂

Prompt:
Love this not-a-trend-but-cool reel.

Essentially you…

  1. Film a video of you dancing or working or walking or doing nothing at all but just staring into space
  2. Put some words on top of it like…

Welcome to the side of Instagram where… [fill the rest in according to the culture you want to create]

What would a community that feels FREE from the B.S. we must navigate every day look like?

You can also make this about “accepting” some of the BS stuff that people tend to feel guilty about but actually … they really shouldn’t feel guilty.

Look at 2 examples below (mine included)!

Prompt 3:

Objective:
Value, driving traffic to a “next step” in your relationship.

Prompt:
Is there something that your dream clients tend to dive into too quickly?

Or maybe they go into doing something without fully giving it the thought they need, or collecting the data they need?

Today is about highlighting your expertise and showing them that there are steps they may have not even considered.

For example…

  • Don’t post until you do this…
  • Don’t go on vacation until you do this…
  • Don’t hire a coach until you do this…
  • Don’t build a new site until you do this…
  • Don’t start a new strategy until you do this…
  • Don’t launch until you do this…
  • Don’t ditch a strategy until you consider this…

Next, use the caption to:

  • ask people to reach out to you for clarity on something
  • download a freebie that dives into this topic more
  • listen to a podcast where you go into more detail
  • go somewhere where they can find more information, etc.

Here’s template you can use.

Plus, get a sense of some of the designs below, and an example caption.

Pro-Tip: When you add this to Instagram, don’t forget to add a trending song for some extra reach.

As a caption, it might look something like this:

Save this post if you’re getting ready to start your email list!!!

Why?

These steps are gonna help you actually be able to COMMIT to your email list so it can turn into one of the most powerful assets you have when it comes to getting clients.

I find your email list to be a non-negotiable, especially if you want to create an online course or membership in the future.

Also — if you’re struggling with one of these steps, I’ve got tips and resources coming out of my ears. So shoot me a DM if you want more info on something and I can help ya!

Prompt 4:

Objective:
Engagement, showing the relatable life behind your business.

Time to budget:
15 minutes.

Prompt:
Folks will be celebrating Halloween this weekend.

Halloween images always get lots of engagement because they are so fun, so hey … let’s use that to our advantage.

Go on IG story to share…

  • …pics of your kids dressed up for Halloween
  • …what you’re doing for Halloween
  • …the Halloween movie that you just watched to get in the spirit. Ask folks if they watched it / what they thought.
  • …how you’re prepping for Halloween. Are you a decorations kinda person? What are you doing this year?

This is purely about engagement, so make it fun and easy to engage with.

Also, I think it would be easiest if this was on your IG story because it’s unpolished, in the moment and fun.

Trending Audios & Reel Ideas:

Objective:
Funny, relatable IG reel. The content with the most reach.

Time to budget:
Budget 30 minutes.

Prompt:
It’s a reel day!

I’m devoting one day a week to sharing 3 trending / probably-will-trend audios you can steal for your reels. Why? Because this type of content is still getting the most reach.

So let’s dive in…

Need a reminder on how to use the trending audios, go here to watch this 2.5 minute video.

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Love this simple sound.

Highlight something that makes you feel like you can’t believe your eyes/ears. Just make a face like “Am I seeing this right?” then look at the camera and blink twice on the “blink” sounds.

You can use it to highlight something that confuses or shocks you.

Here are some ideas:

  • Add text on screen with a common misconception in your industry

  • When you hear someone say ______ [myth about your niche]

  • When my clients say they don’t have to ______ [necessary action] to achieve [results of working with you]

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

Another simple one that I love.

(Can anyone else TOTALLY relate to this reel? 🤣 )

Use this sound to highlight something about yourself that your audience either relates to, or that you want them to know about you.

You can use it to share a minor struggle (losing your glasses, running late, ordering takeout after grocery shopping) or you can add an on screen list of things that people get when they work with/buy from you.

Here are some ideas:

  • “Who’s gonna help you ______ [transformation your audience wants to achieve]?”

  • “Looking for a ______ [your title] to help you ______ [get results]?”

  • “Who _____ [enter funny quirk you do that people might not know about]?”

How to use this audio:

Here’s a direct link to the audio if you need it.

The whole idea behind this trend is owning the choices you’ve made that paved your own way.

Like owning your business rather than getting a 9-5 job.

Or choosing to lose weight without dieting.

Or finding treatments NOT recommended by a doctor because ____ .

You can also use it to share a relatable moment, like deciding not to do something that you know would be good for you (a walk, taking expert advice, filling up your car with gas, etc.) and then paying for the consequences later 🤣

Here are some ideas:

  • “When someone tells you you need to ______ [something they don’t need to do] in order to _____ [get results]”

  • “When someone decides not to _____ [take your expert advice about something people tend to have misconceptions around] but then learns the hard way.”

  • “Them: Stop making everything about _____ [your niche]!”
