How Much Engagement Should You Be Getting for Your Size of Following?

I get A LOT of questions about engagement on Instagram. Everyone is under the impression that they don’t have enough engagement when looking at how many followers they have, or they assume that if they had more followers, they’ll also get a heck of a lot more engagement.

Well, my friend. This can get a little tricky… 
 
The algorithm makes it really hard for your content to circulate if it doesn’t get swarmed with “likes” and “engagement” right away (regardless of how many followers you have).

Also, the bigger your audience, the harder it is for your content to circulate.  

But here’s the good thing: That’s the case for everyone, not just you.

So let’s take a look at some numbers and see where your engagement falls so we can get realistic about your engagement goals.

As you can see… the more, not necessarily the merrier.

Use this information to either ease up on trying to grow and instead, focus on impressing the 1-5k you’ve already got.

Or, if you’re a business that definitely needs that massive following, understand that if your engagement percentage starts to drop — that’s normal. It doesn’t mean you’re failing at social media or that your audience is losing interest. Take that pressure off of yourself!
